Texans running back Arian Foster isn’t one of those players who seems to really enjoy speaking to the media, but he did speak to the media today where he seemed determined to stick to one theme: He’s just trying to be a good teammate this year.
As pointed out by CSN Houston, Foster answered 11 questions, all with some variation of this answer: “Yeah, I’m just out here, working hard every single day, trying to be the best teammate I can be.”
A sample of the exchange:
Question: How do you feel? Were you 100 percent out there today?
Foster: I’m just out here trying to be the best teammate I can be and I’m gonna work hard at doing that.
Q: Physically, you’re good to go?
F: I’m just trying to be the best teammate I can be, man.
Q: Arian, can you tell us exactly what kept you out, what was going on?
F: Yeah, man. I’m just trying to be the best teammate I can be, you know. I’m gonna work hard at doing that.
Foster was asked about his health, the fans, his teammates, the offseason — all pretty standard and predictable questions.
And for a press availability that almost seemed like the two sides were speaking completely different languages, he likely avoided two things: Getting fined and saying anything.
